About Our Chapter

The Henry Middleton Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) has been an active part of the Aiken community since 1964. Our chapter is named after Henry Middleton, a wealthy planter born in Charleston, South Carolina, who served as President of the First Continental Congress in 1774 and later as President and Senator of South Carolina’s provincial assembly.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to historic preservation, education, and patriotism.

The Henry Middleton Chapter is continually involved in various activities that demonstrate our commitment to these goals within our community and state. Our chapter also honors long-standing members, as evidenced by our recognition of a 70-year member in 2023.

Our chapter usually meets on the second Wednesday of each month from September to May. If you would like to attend one of our meetings, please get in touch with our regent for more information.

Do you have an American Revolutionary War Patriot within your family tree? The first step to becoming a member of DAR is to compile your genealogical information and reach out to our chapter registrar, who will assist you with the application process and address any inquiries you may have.

Partnering for Scholarships and Living History

We recently developed a scholarship in partnership with a local university. This exciting collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting education and empowering the next generation of leaders.

We are working with our local historic museum by sponsoring and volunteering in their School and Play program. This unique initiative, held at the museum’s authentic one-room schoolhouse, brings colonial education and traditional games to life for today’s students.
